STAFFORD
THE COUNTY TOWN

We are proud of the fascinating heritage to be discovered in each of our beautiful borough’s three towns. With its impressive castle and historic buildings, the county town of Stafford has so much to see and do as well as fabulous places to stay.

From its founding during the Dark Ages to a centre for the shoe industry in the 17th Century, and from the Norman conquest to the English Civil War, Stafford has played a notable part in the history of England.

SAFE IN OUR SURROUNDINGS

Our beautiful borough boasts fantastic healthy open-air places where you can get out and about, get some fresh air and enjoy the scenery with lots of space to enjoy.

In the heart of Stafford, on the banks of the River Sow, is the Green Flag award-winning Victoria Park, which has recently undergone a programme of £2.5M restoration work thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

With its band stand and aviary, bowling green and glass house, this much-loved beauty spot has all the ingredients of an idyllic English park – as well as activities such as a sensory raised garden, splash pad and impressive play area.

WE ALL DESERVE REFRESHMENT

When it comes to food and drink and enjoying time together, our beautiful borough boasts the best of all worlds.

In Stafford you can enjoy all kinds of dining, from restaurants offering a wide selection of cuisines to relaxed cafes and bistros for a lighter bite. As the nightlife capital of our beautiful borough, there is plenty to do after you have eaten too – with a great selection of welcoming pubs and bars, as well as nightclubs for those in the mood to party.

All of these venues, from nightclubs to cafes, are fully prepared to help you enjoy your time out in a safe way, following the guidelines with a minimum of fuss.
